Coolubricant is what he Engineers named it, but the Marketing department wants it be called Lubricool.

My money is on Marketing!

Obviously, I'm not the guy they call when they're looking for product names.

If I spray it on my right elbow, will it cool and lubricate the joint at the same time?

Only if you have 'tennis elbow'...(lateral epicondilitis).

No, Tim. It's $15/quart. But with a Porsche dealer pouring it in for you, it's an extra $100/quart. So, technically you're correct.

You know, all kidding aside, wouldn't it just make sense to have a single fluid. They run at different temperatures and pressures, so they would still be separate systems, but if there ever WAS an intermix problem, at least it wouldn't be fatal, and cooling side corrosion would be eliminated as a bonus. HMMM, the heat transfer characteristics of oil are too low, so the radiators would have to be larger.... Veeeery interesting...but stupid?? Maybe not....

Oh boy. Now you did it. The 993 guys are gonna be here any moment now stating that their Older and Wiser Germans already had the one fluid solution. Oil. ;-)

I think the solution proposed has more to do with improving the lubrification properties of water. A dealer tech tells me it smells like Astroglide and said it was just another way for the dealer to slip it to customers
