A search will turn up quite a bit of info, but I have it and am very happy with it. There are less costly readers, but the Durametric has more features, so it depends what you need.
It is great. I have the 3 car license, and I have 3 Porsches. It is especially good for Cayenne's with the maintenance indicator. If you only need to get rid of CEL, then there are some for <$50 that can work.
AAA+++........paid for itself the first time I used it..........Buy It!

If you are getting loads of CELs or live far from a shop, get one. Otherwise, pay 30 bucks for the cheapest reader until you NEED the durametric. That's what I did. Honestly, I like it, but it just doesn't get used much. IMO, you need it for specialty stuff, but for most things (like generic CEL codes) it's just too expensive.
I keep a cheap code reader I leave in the car so I don't have to lug my laptop around. It works just fine for the very infrequent CEL.
