Default child car seat for 02 911

does anyone have any experience with a good fitting car seat for the back seat of a 2002 - 996. I had a regular old evenflow seat in before, but i had to "shim" it with a blanket to get it to fit tight. I know porsche makes one, but iv seen some recall info on that, and dont care to fork over the cash. brittax makes one called the "monarch" but i cant find it for sale anymore. i also hope to not spend a fortune on one if possible.

thanks, rick

The one I use in mine is a Britax. I think it is called the roundabout. Bought on Amazon.com for about 100. fits pretty good. I did a search last year and that seat was a favorite.

we bought the Britax marathon for the back of the C4S. I haven't had a chance to install it yet... but it looks BIG.

hey thanks for the quick replies! i guess i should add that this is for a 3 year old (well next week anyway). i was in a minor front end collision a few weeks ago and got to claim the car seat as damaged. i have to buy something similar price and quality for the claim otherwise its rumored the opposing insurance will squirm. that puts me around $100 for the deal. the recaro vivo and vivo lite are pretty sweet looking and they have a nice little pink trimmed one for my little girl. on the bright side i got new bumper ($1200), rock chips blended out of the hood, and a new left light assembly ($2400) and it was the other persons fault...of course!

Need to see some pics of your car!

Here is some recent baby seat info. The seat fits better if you remove the rear seats.

If you're looking for a booster:

I had a Recaro for my 4 1/2 year old (at the time) when I got my '02 last March. I felt it couldn't get deep enough into the seat and with the back of the seat he appeared to be very close to the passenger seat.

I did buy the following and without the back it works great.
Qty Product Code - Product Name Price
----------------------------------------------------------------------
1 EF35B0A - Fisher Price Safe Voyage Booster Car Seat

Although I need to pay careful attention to this thread because my wife and I are going to be adopting a little girl (now 16 months) from China. We will be going over to China, probably in June, so I'll probably be experimenting with putting the Britax Marathon that we had (before the 911) in the 911.

Yeah, those are the "older" models. We know about that recall.
