Pulled the car out of the garage this morning and discovered a flashing coolant light as I turned out of my driveway onto the street. Turned around and came back to the garage, stopping to check the floor to see if there were any coolant puddles. No such luck. From the looks of the dipstick, the missing coolant is in the crankcase.
The car started and ran as usual, so I think I'm looking at a cracked head, a head gasket failure, or a leak in the oil cooler.
67K miles, about 23K of which I've put on the car. I think at this point I'll drop the engine and begin the diagnosis and repair if possible or simply replace.
