PORSH or Por-SCHA (pronunciation Poll)

Drifting
I just refer to mine as "my beater"
Actually fifty years ago when I was 9, my mother worked with a woman who always drove Porsches. She refered to them as a Porsch which was the way my mother refered to them as well. So this is where I learned my first pronunciation of the word and it has stuck with me thru 5 ownerships of the cars. I have a friend that works at the dealer and he says both. If he brings it up first it's Porscha but If I say Porsch a couple of times then he will say it too. Funny because he's worked at 2 different dealerships and has been a German car guy for decades.
How about BMW? I had a '67 and the dealer pronounced it Bay-Em-Vay.

Well Maci....I am surprised. Seems you are NOT alone in your thinking SO I will allow you the option on how you say it. I still feel some good reasons were presented and a more clear pronumciation was achieved with the "Poor Shed" Minus the D (aka the soft "eh" on the end) and I still stand firm in my belief that it is a 2 syllible word
That said... What did you come away with.
This was fun, and surprising for me.
