Its Porsh unless you are in Germany

Its still a family owned company - would you risk upsetting the boss by pronouncing his surname name wrong

It depends on who I'm addressing. If I'm talkikng to another Porschefile, I'll use the two syllable pronunciation. If I'm not, I'll use to one syllable pronunciation so as to not sound snobbish.

Porsche is a 2 syllable word! I know this for sure is the absolute correct way to pronounce Porsche.

If you own a 996 or newer, it's Porch. A real 911, it's a Porsche...

I read an article a few weeks ago about this very subject. The author, when meeting Ferry Porsche many years ago, remember him introducing himself as "Porsch"...

Personally, I say Porscha....

Umm, it's a family name, there's no debate...I clearly remember the old commercials when Ferry Porsche harkened back to "...the very first Porsch - a...".

So people never pronounce family names differently - you get Pres. Sarkosy's correct do you, just like a local ?

For those who have not heard a French person pronounce it, it is : sar-ko-ZEE , most English speakers would say SAR-cozy - sounds so different that a Frenchman would not know who you were talking about - ask me how I know

Maybe some folks get confused by the different German/european dialects.

The Swiss have a different accent where it might sound like Porsh-ay.
