Great stuff! This is the longest I've gone without driving a new Porsche in the snow. This "global warming" is killing me! Where's the snow?!

What are you guys talking about? We got over 4' the wknd after Thanksgiving and it's been snowing several times/week since. Kinda like mid-winter, but the sun is shining in the mid-40's.

Need a P-car snow fix? Drive out to Colorado and you'll be set.

Ivangene - if you're a serious skier you might want to consider it. I had 20 days on snow by Thanksgiving and I have a FT job. Sadly, I blew out my knee while training the day after Thanksgiving and I'm out for the season. At least I can still push the Go pedal in the P-car and have some fun in the snow this winter.

We've been skiing since mid-December but over in the French Alps next to Geneva

Back to the point though - I read somewhere that PSM on the C4's automatically re-engages when you touch the brake pedal. Is this true? Since I haven't made my intended purchase yet (see recent thread), I'm not in a position to test...

My old (2000) E46 325Xi was similarly crippled - you could turn off traction control but the 4 wheel drive mechanism (PSM rival) couldn't be fully disabled. Bummer if you wanted to have fun...

Great thread....I disable the psm in the parking lots whenever I can....it really is amazing fun. I can plow thru anything that's not over 6" with the blizzaks and awd. Total total blast.

I don't believe that touching the brakes re-activates the PSM. But come to think of it, I don't remember braking - it was power slides all the way!

I'll have to check it out following our next storm and report back unless someone can confirm.

(how do I copy someone else's msg to respond to as I've seen so many of you do? I can't figure that out- was hoping to capture our European friend's text)

the psm will stay off until you reactivate or upon restart.
