In their instructions they suggest using nonabrasive, absorbent, lint free and disposable.Reusable cloths can retain abrasive particles and cause damage. They do say a soft cloth is ok(like a cloth diaper).

Make sure you resize the pictures so they are no more then 145k and then upload them using the attachment management window.

Has anyone thought of this one? Or does anyone know the answer? Back when I was shopping for my 996 I came across an '00 C2 Cabriolet with a glass window. The dealer said the previous owner replaced it. Does anyone know about doing this? I noticed Pelican had an OEM top with glass window - can this be put into the pre-02 996s as a simple replacement? I don't think I would do mine right now - the dealer just replaced the plastic window and it looks great - but when it comes time to replace it, I'm considering changing it out to the glass window type...

Hey Tim!

Finally got a chance to look at the link (just got back from the East Coast - damn it was cold. Now I know why everyone hibernates their babies in the winter out there)...

Good call - that's exactly what I was looking for. Now, does the dealer have to install this or can I go to any reputable upholstery shop? (I used to have a 'stang convertible and that's where I took it to replace the top at a reasonable price)

Thanks again for the tip!

Rudy,

I recall a couple of guys stating that the top is relatively complex and suggested that if the upholstry shop did not have experience with installing 911 tops, you may be better off going to the dealer. However, if the dealer doesn't have anyone that really knows how to do it, they may send it out to an upholstry shop, and upcharge you for the service.

I would call your local dealer and see if they actually install the tim "in house" or if they send it out to a shop. Get an estimate while you have them on the phone.
