Just got my first Porsche. 99 cab. 29k miles. 11/98 production. Happy as can be.Top is in good shape but window is foggy. Are there any products out there that bring back to clear?

Plexus is one way to go. Be careful with your cleaning strokes, folow one direction. The less you touch the window, the better.

My rear window was a bit cloudy and now looks better. Not perfect, but better. Anyways, the top is down 90% of the driving time, right?

Porsche makes a plastic window reconditioner. Use this first and then finish w/Plexus.

When I bought my '99, I couldn't even see through the rear window.
Tried many products, the only thing I found that worked is the Novus 1,2,3 products, a three step process with decreasing abrasives (#3 is most abrasive, #1 similar to Plexus, the "finishing" step).
Do the inside and outside.
After you get rid of the fogging, Plexus works pretty well to maintain the window, as does the Novus #1.
This pic was taken this spring.
The car is now 10 years old.

No, but it was really bad. Couldn't see through the window at all.

Mine did the same on my old Boxster. I was told that keeping the top down all the time was not helping it any. The heat from the engine and not letting it "breathe" were the causes. I used the Porsche cleaner with descent results. I finally got tired if it looking bad at the crease in the middle, so I had it replaced for $250 at a local upholstery shop.

If it's not too bad, exactly what Rob said. Plexus is more of a window maintainer. The Porsche stuff will remove oxidation, etc.

I clean both sides. The inside gets a bit dirty from the proximity to the engine compartment, I suppose.

Plexus does a bit aof conditioning too, but I will look into the Nexus and Porsche conditioners too.

Seriously though.... a glass/plexiglass window would be so much easier to maintain!

based on my previous exeprience there are two issues. first is the haziness and scratches on the film and second is the seperation of the film from the top fabric as the car ages. i ultimately replaced the film at a good shop and the film was stiched to the fabric top instead of glued. this is a good way to go if your film shows alot of wear.

Well, I just ordered the Novus 1,2,3 kit. I will take before and after pics and let all know the results.

OK... I received the Novus 1, 2 & 3 products today. 1/2 hour later with not a lot of effort, my completely foggy - scratched rear window that you could barely see out of actually looks brand new! I will have to admit I was skeptical but for $30 it was worth the try. That window was the only thing that looked aged on my 99 Cab. I did outside and inside. Make sure you follow the directions.

I would recommend ordering extra polish mate cloths from Novus when you order cause it works on a bunch of other items including CD,s and DVD,s Plastic headlamps, Acrylic stuff around the house.
