Default Sport suspension without lowering the car?

Sorry about asking a bit dum questions, newbie that I am. I drove a fellow P-car owners 996 carrera 2 today. He has M030 sport suspension installed and his car felt so much better than my own car with original suspension. I have always thought that sport suspension makes a car tuff on the road but M030 was not like that. The feeling was much more "sucked to the road" -kind of a feeling, without being rough at all.

Like said I am a newbie and a total stranger when it comes to suspension things. I suppose there is a ton of suspension and sway bar choises out there.

The thing is that I would like my car behave like his but the problem is the curb that I have to cross every time I take my car out. I have an aero-kit installed and it is a bit tricky to go over without the cratchy sound from the front lip. For this reason, dropping my car lower is not an option for me. Well, maybe 1/3 of an inch lower would still be manageable.

Should I ditch my dreams about sport suspension because of this? Which sport suspension would be good for my car?

With the RoW M030 , front axle lowers 2 cm and rear only 1 cm.
I got it installed and I consider that is the minimum that a 911 ought to have as stock factory.

If you go for the X74 sport suspension lowers 4 cm front and I don't recommend it with you GT3 front bumper.

There is another way and probably would be the best thing for you:

You can install Bilstein Sport with the stock springs. You'll have a a better handling, no stiffer, improving the performace and upgrading the stock shocks.

They are Bilstein B6 Sport

front: VN3-5256

rear: BE5-6811

They are a good choice

If it's only for one specific curb (your driveway) can you build a ramp or fill it w/ cement?

For the US spec cars, the ROW M030 will lower it a bit more. Mine was lowered about 1 1/2" (almost 4cm) all the way around, and I think that's normal.

US suspension vs RoW is only 0,5 cm higher

In Europe the cost is about 950 € + installation

Includes shocks, springs and antiroll bars

Ask Carnewall for price

Since he has a RoW version, the car will drop 1cm all around with the M030 and 30mm all around with the X74.

Changing the shocks to the B6 is a good idea and you could also upgrade the stabilisers to the M030 or GT3 version.

Did I get it right, Bilstein B6 + M030 stabilizers will give me the same ride height than original suspension but better handling when cornering (car goes less slanted) without being rougher on normal driving? Can I rest assured that there will be no problem combining B6 and M030 stabilizers if I order those and take them to the shop for installation?

...if that is so one might wonder how come that change has not been made for every car in the factory. Better handling and no down sides.

I live in a condo and share the drive way with 20 other families. Also, I have offices in three different towns. All of those locations have parking for me in a carage that is barely accessible with my front bumper. But I just love the darned Aero-Kit!

Bilstein B6 are not very harsh shocks

IMHO the stock suspension is soft and you can upgrade the handling with the Bilstein.

You know that sport shocks have a hard compression and extenssion rebound, and anti roll bars make the car less slanting.

Nevertheless, you won't notice a hugh differences with them.
If you were go for the X74 , PSS9, or sport shock combined to shorter springs, then the differences would be major

When I mounted my M030 kit I noticed a hugh upgrade in my C2,and more than a C4 from a friend who did the same
All of us know that C2 front axle is more floating than C4, and as I read that yours is a C2, I'm sure that you will improve the handling in the front train and will get a good compromise indeed

I bought mine from Aaron @ Suncoast Porsche in FL (877) 923-1700. I received the BEST price and Service from him. I pretty much call him for everything on my P-car now. I paid around $1,100 shipped, back about 6-months ago. Here's the link:
(tell him Paul in CA referred you!)
