I wave at Porsche drivers like crazy and none of them ever wave back. I think "what a bunch of ******!"
Then I remember I'm driving my Honda! Hell, I wouldn't wave at me if I saw myself driving a Honda!

I hate it when people don't wave too, but you have to realize some people just don't see you. I had a guy in a Corvette give me a thumbs up and I missed it. The kids told me after he passed. I was pissed that I didn't see it. That guy probably thought I was a real dick because I was driving a Porsche and didn't respond, but in reality I was really disappointed that I missed it especially coming from someone driving a different marque.
Had the top down today and another guy in a 'vette cab yelled over, "nice car" and I was sure to reciprocate.
I always wave, but a lot of times people don't see and some see, but don't have a clue. All that ensures the ones that do wave are true enthusiasts.

Gads its hard enough shifting gears holding the beer. Now you want a wave back? Sheeze
There are many other ways people signal back. In Nebraska it's one finger lifted off the steering wheel normally. Hawaii is typically a head nod upwards. California and regions infiltrated by the mass migration its the middle finger I thought. So try the middle finger. I'm sure you will get that wave back in a timely manner.
I've seen guys on sportbike forums complain about some people not waving. It's like they need a wave back or their belief in mankind is lost. I personally prefer a fist on the top of an oncoming bikers helmet to warn of police ahead for me. I'm sure some are fearful for their lives trying to wave back on a bike. After around......errr faster the wind tends to catch body parts and corkscrew a guy off his bike. Me I just streamline my hand and arm. When you see a sportbike guy looking like he is pointing at the ground to another its a wave of sorts saying keep the wheels on the road. Kind of help keep a guy healthy.
But now with your bright red car you get waved at? You might also get pulled over more

so there is a well know spot they like to sit, with no front plate on the 996 I use the lane as far from them as I can and "blend" in when going thru there... I watch carefully (without looking right at them) and have had good luck "sneaking by" for over a year - yesterday I was in the same lane (habit) and "blending"
seems the large neon arrow pointing at my little red car made the cop stand up and litteraly watch me pass this is gonna cost me at some point (I fear)

Yah its like bass fish. The flashier the bait but how the heck their brains figure we are food I don't know. Ford has come out with a replacement for the crown victoria so maybe they will feel sportier and want race instead of give ticket. Well maybe not
So hows the handling of the new car?
