Default ROW M030 for 2003 996?

I want to lower my 996 but don't want to spend $3k to do it. Seems like ROWM030 may be the best option. ROWM030 also improves the ride. How far would this installation lower it? I have some 19" RPK 038s on it.

I want to lower it about an inch.

I think it will lower about an inch...you'll love the improved handling without much comprimise to ride. I have the US MO3O, but my ride height hasn't dropped from stock, but yours will I believe.

I dropped an inch on a 2001.
Great improvement in ride quality without harshness.

I think you should go all out and buy my JIC Cross coilovers that I have for sale for $1400 plus shipping.

You can set whatever height you want that way and have 16 way adjustable dampening.

Let me know if interested.

I went through this thought process when I bought the car, and from what I've heard from people who have done it out in LA, the handling does seem to firm up nicely however the decrease in ride height may not be that noticeable on 02+

I guarantee you ten people on the forum will offer alternate opinions, so please note that I'm only repeating what I've heard and what's been said to me.

For what it's worth, I think the ride height on your current 19s looks great, equal space all around (but I'm admittedly no a fan of the "obviously slammed" look)

my 03 is in the shop right now having theROW M030 installed. I believe the quoted height diff. is 20mm front and 10 mm rear.

I agree, I am not a fan of the obviously overly slammed look. I do think I could lower slightly about an inch. Here are some pics.

PCA says 20mm lower in the front and 10 mm lower in the rear for the 996.

I have the RoW M030

Lows 20 mm front and 10 mm rear

It's good enough but if you want to improve the ride, best go for a Bilstein B8, sway bars Eibach and Gemballa springs

After this a good set up and go!
It's no stiffer, but very efficient

What spring rates are those? How old are they? They look to be in great condition.

Eibach springs will lower about 1 inch, a little less than H&R.

on 19" rims ROW 030 may be a little too stiff... the shocks are stiffer than US M030 you will definitely feel more stiffness... it's not harsh but its not exactly comfortable either....

I have ROW 030 on my 99 and the handling is awesome... I installed it when I had 17" SO2-A tires and ride was ok... becoming stiff as the tire went down to its last 1000 km of life... now I'm riding on Michelin PS2 and the ride is a lot stiffer because the PS2 has a stiffer sidewall than the S02-A... car feels very very sporty... and around town can be a little punishing.... and this is on a 17" tire... so I'd think about how you want to use your car... if your gonna track it then ROW 030 is ok... if you just want to lower it then maybe a bilstein PSS9 kit is better as it allows you to dial in softness so it doesn't kill you around town but you can also dial it stiff for the track... if I were you and riding on 19" rims... I would *not* go ROW 030.... I'd invest in PSS9 for purposes of achieving comfort and adjustability..... my 2 cents..
