when i turn on litronics from cold start, they come on fine. it is always after i drive the car, park, then return to it (within a few hrs... last occurance after 2hrs) that it doesnt want to come back on. i did see them flickering last time out but it failed to light and stayed off the entire trip home, about 45mins.
just tried turning them on but they failed to light. its been 2 days which is not the normal rest period for me, which is typically 5 days or so. they both flicker and try to ignite but do not come on. i have an 01 c4.
just a few more details. this has been happening for about 2mos now. so say 8-10 occasions. i know i know... i should drive it more. as it did not fire up at all today, we may have reached the next stage.

any ideas?
COuld be as simple as the light switch as if both flicker at same time I believe there are separate ballasts for each side and Ican't believe they would both fail at the same time. Simply wiggle the light switch and see if the flicker repeats?? Light switch is common failure in all my reading.
Check the battery charge cold, and then HOT. And while you're at it check the battery post connections at both ends. HID lights are highly sensitive to battery voltage.

Good point - especially if the car has been used sparingly in recent weeks.
thanks to all for your comments and suggestions. my cpo just expired and i was hoping they might try and take care of me but the dealer wouldnt commit to anything.... just said bring it in, we diagnose and then we'll see what we can do. too much trouble if its just a 100 part. so im gonna try the switch.
i searched all over for a DIY but i couldnt find anything.... prof dell, care to provide me with a step by step? im not real handy but with steps laid out, i should be able to do this. im afraid of breaking something off as i try to dismantle. nothing is ever obvious to me....
