Magnetic Track Numbers
Need a quick answer to this since I'm at the office and don't have my 996 with me. Will magnetic track numbers stick on our car doors? I need to order some today for a track day this weekend. Reason I ask is because my friend's 997TT has non-metallic doors so magnetic numbers can't be used.

I've had magnetic numbers scratch paint in the past.
When I take the 996, I just use masking tape on the rear side windows to make numbers.
It's quick, easy and clean (and a piece of cake if you can get a number like 71, 17, 11, etc.)

Just make numbers out of masking tape. The magnets can scratch you paint and your putting masking tape on the numbers anyway. Forget the $20++ numbers and use $3 tape. The next DE you do will require different numbers.
If your looking for a way to spend $20, please pm me for my address.

How I know not to use the purple stuff?
I tried it. It won't even stick to itsself. The blue stuff is just right. Enough to stick on your car but won't leave any residue.
I even used duct tape a few times. I wouldn't recommend it, but it didn't leave any residue on my car.
Good luck on the track!!

I use magnetic numbers and since I have a 3-digit number the odds of somebody else having it is SLIM. If they do you can add a "x" after it (or they can). I have had ZERO problems with them scratching the paint as I clean them (front and back) when I remove them and make sure the door is clean when I place them back on. I run a line of tape about the edge for a clean look and to keep them in place. I forgot once and one flew off on the bank at Lowe's!
Here is a pic of the custom one's Charlie made for me (DrJupeman). Very nice work
