Very true... No danger of problems for us here in PA, considering that we always have too much food in the house... Although I don't keep much food in Cary, so a trip across the road to the grocery store would be required.

On the plus side, weather forecast is calling for 60 degrees by the weekend. As Dell mentioned, it does not last. I had the Boxster out this morning, no problems just a few ice patches to practice over and under steer!

The roads are clear already?

We just dug out 8"... the blowing winds were the worst party of the storm.

Roads are clear. DOT did a good job of pre-treating with a brine solution, which has now washed away. just a few icey spots, and they too will be gone in a day or two, where the shade is. My daughter had her BMW out this am, no issues.

Ditto to that!

I need to try and find time to wash my car before then, as it's all covered in junk.

Looks like another morning at coffee in the truck. Rain changing to snow tonight with possibly an inch of accumulation = no brand new summer tire fun

Looking forward to it, especially after this morning. For those of you prone to Schadenfreude, read on.

Started this morning with a dead battery. Worn ignition key system allows you to remove key while still in "Accessory" mode. I'm aware of this, and usually very careful, so much so that it is almost a non issue, as making sure it is fully off is second nature, but it happens. I've tried to fix it before with mixed results, and will make the effort again next time dash is off.

Then getting out of car in parking lot, balancing full XL foam coffee cup on roof of car while getting laptop bag, coat, etc organized. Coffee makes a dash for freedom, spills evenly between my leg and the side of the car. Much loud profanity follows. Apologies to any bystanders. ( Dear god, think of the children....)

REALLY looking forward to a relaxing Saturday morning...
