Steven is prejudiced against Blue cars. If he bought mine, he would have to change his Rennlist ID from The Speed Demon to The Lapis Demon, and I don't think that has the same ring to it.

Seriously, he has already stated that if he gets another Porsche, it will have to be Speed Yellow.

I am doing much better. I am able to get around the house but still in pain and the bruises have spread but that was to be expected.

I am still waiting to settle with the insurance company. After which I will sit down with my wife and talk about the next P car. I know what I want, I just have to figure out how to get it.

Well, I'm looking forward to hearing the story of what happened.

As for how to get another car.... well, talk to mfletch - he can give you pointers on rebuilding from cinders.

Default Update

Me: I am doing much better. Arm is healing pretty well but there will be some scaring. My hip and leg are still bruised and a little sore, but that is going away daily.

Car: Total loss

Insurance: I have just received the settlement paperwork and will return it ASAP so that I can put the money in the bank knowing that I can 'really' look for a car

New Porsche: I have done sore preliminary looking and have a found a few cars, but only a couple that look interesting enough to pursue. Some cars I have found I have shaken my head at and just wondered why (i.e. found a Turbo that was badged a GT2 and had some other GT2 bits put on, but it was not a GT2, yet they were asking a ridiculous price). At this moment I have to stick to a certain budget (60K maximum) and so a GT3 is out of my reach. So I am looking for either a Turbo (2001+) or C4S. It can be a Coupe or Cab, not really worried as neither one will see the track. Yep I am giving up the track desires with my next Porsche, the wife has made it clear that either the Porsche is a true track car (i.e. GT3 - which I know can be driven on the street, or a purposely built track 996) and I drive it on the track, or a street car that both of us can enjoy anytime. Here are the specific's regarding the next 'Speed Demon':

Speed Yellow
Black Interior
6-Speed
Warranty

Other than that, obviously condition (exterior/interior), mileage, maintenance records, accident history, etc. are standard.

So if anyone comes across cars within my requirements please let me know.

My previous comment about maybe a Red or White I have decided against. This is because I would find one and then always want a Speed Yellow. So I must get what I want and not settle for anything else.

Thanks again to all for your posts...I will not be going anywhere even if it takes a few months to find that perfect Speed Demon, so yep you will see me on this forum still.

Thanks.

I found 2 997's SY:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...0&cardist=2455

Question: are 997 C2's Wide Body?

I am really starting to like the wide body look and prefer it now.

Unfortunately I cannot stretch beyond 60K

I wonder how much this private seller would go down on price? Never know ....

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=&cardist=1363

It looks to be a beautiful car.

This too ...

Both nice cars, but the first car hasn't been driven enough (do you hear me Phil!??!) - I'd take the second one.

Steven, no the 997 C2, C2S, and GT3 are all narrow bodies.

997 wide bodies are C4, C4S, Targa 4, Targa 4S, Turbo, GT3 RS, and GT2.

As always thanks Tim for the clarification.

That 997 C2 has already sold before I had a chance to even think about it twice.

Oh well, the search continues.

I have created a AutoTrader account and have saved the ones in this thread and others I found. Thanks and keep them coming.
