Unhappy Goodbye 1999 C2 Speed Yellow Aero

First I want to say I am writing this post in a lot of pain (even though I am on meds and at home), and so I will keep this short. But I did want to do this thread once I could as you are my Rennlist family and I did not want to keep you in the dark.

I was involved in a solo accident over the weekend. I was the only one in the car at the time which is good. I cannot go into details at this moment because I am going through the insurance claim process, but it sounds like it is a total loss

The good news is that I have no broken bones but I do have severe bruising on my left side and my left arm is cut-up some what (probably from the side air-bag).

Here is a picture of the car on the flat-bed (it does not show all of the damage, but every panel on the car is damaged including the roof):

I will get through this and it is only a car and I am happy to be alive. My wife and friends have been very supportive throughout this ordeal and I thank them with all my heart.

Note: you cannot see it in the picture, but in the lower corner of the drivers door where it is wrinkled pretty bad, a piece of the fence had gone through the door, fortunately the seat stopped it from going through me although it did push the seat over a couple of inches and the impact of that was the cause of the major bruising etc. to my hip.

I will keep everyone posted.

One thing for sure, a Porsche is built strong and safe and I feel if I was in any other car I would not be writing this thread today!!!

HOLY CRAP!!!! Steven...glad to hear you are ok. Wow...man I am really sorry for you. Fill us in on the details once everything is taken care of. BE SURE TO GET THOSE MODS OFF AND SELL THEM.

On a funny note...at least the flatbed was speed yellow too. (sorry...I tried.)

Stephen
So very, very sorry. As everyone said, I'm glad you are alive! I can't tell you how much your input has helped me in the past.
Hang in there and remember, stay on the pain meds. That's 4 every 1-2 hours

Steve
I am so sorry for your loss but very glad to hear you were not seriously hurt. In time, I am sure you will be back in the saddle again.
You are lucky, or say blessed, that the post missed you!
It must have been hard to post that picture.
Get well soon and do keep us informed in your progress (your recovery). Glad you were in your P-car.

Cars can be replaced but not human life. Glad to see you are alive. That is what matters.

Ouch!! To survive that crash is a testament to the P-car and to your body's strenght and resiliency. Very glad you're not seriously hurt, and we're all wishing you a very speedy recovery. Best wishes!!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I'm so glad to hear you walked away Steven. If you don't have your health, you have nothing.

It's just a car.
