Default 2004 C4S for $53k with SALVAGE TITLE

and 16k miles sold on Barrett-Jackson today. That's beyond crazy, isn't it? And of course that price doesn't include the mark-up charged by the auction house.

I was shocked. Having bought, rebuilt, and sold salvaged vehicles...I couldn't believe someone paid that much for a salvaged vehicle that had prior flood damage. I rebuilt a 99 SL600 Mercedes with a salvage title due to flood damage. I would think twice before touching a flood vehicle again. You don't know what is lurking behind those door panels or under that carpet.
I feel a little better about all the work I'm doing on the salvage titled 996 in my garage. Where was that buyer when I sold my Vesuvio 996 with a salvage title?

I don't think so. The announcers & auctioneers make a big deal out of the charity lots, I believe. I think it was just two dumb guys bidding against each other and after adding the 10% commission the price was $58,300. Of course, the flood damage was a free option. Here it is:

Barrett-Jackson. Nuff said.

All the prices going through that auction house are retarded. You couldn't pay me to buy a flood damaged car.

You can buy a non-salvaged with warranty, for price and comm. that those two bid that car up to. Wonder what was in the trunk?

400 hp to the wheels? With a chip, intake and exhaust...that doesn't sound right, unless I'm missing something.

I love the thing about 6000 miles a year---the car could have been driven 16000 miles in 1 year and then flooded and sitting for 2 years...stupid.

How could I sell my car at Barrett Jackson? If a salvage title C4s is going for this much, I think I could sell mine for a profit.

The new owner could potentially join the Rennlist community. We will have to be on a lookout for this car.
