All comments about style, RWD and AWD for drifting aside.. You remember the part in the movie where he is practicing and announces that he needs another set of tires? It eats tires.

Most prefer used tires anyway such as the unevenly worn Pcar tires we have to throw away.

Hmmmm, I just saw spiderman, anyone know how to leap off tall buildings?

I think the key to drifting is to really lean into it.

Too bad Tokyo Drift didn't have P cars doing the drift, that would have been nice. In the youtube, I saw this guy once early this year doing a 180 degree drift in a mountain trail with a Turbo. Since then I really wanted to learn to drift. Anyone here drift with your P car?

Cheers
Haven't seen it and don't care to see, but I drift on the track whenever the track is slick or my tires start going away.

FF3 was not about the sport of drifiting, it was about street racing, and they tried to make the viewer believe that drifting is the fastest way around a corner, which is simply not true. So in that context, I stand by my question... WHY would you want to do it?

I watched a little drift racing yesterday on the TV and saw no sport at all in it other than who can make more smoke than the other person. It only became exciting when the cars hit each other...very similar to NASCAR where the crash is the only time it gets exciting. So with that said, and the fact I do not watch NASCAR, I will not consider drifting as a sport but more entertainment, but I can get the same entertainment of drifiting by watching the news reports of drifting on the local freeways (i.e. 880 in Oakland).

I know I feel as if I took over this thread, but I wanted to add that the coolest part of the movie was when they were doing donuts around the car at the stop light with the girls in it, now that was pretty amazing skill.

My Tivo recorded an episode of "Redline TV" last night via the "PORSCHE" wish list (keyword.) The episode featured a '96 GT2 drifter by JIC Magic. It was pretty interesting to see the suspension, steering, and engine mods necessary to turn the GT2 into a competent drifter. Anyway, try to catch the re-run on SPEED HD -- I am sure they will air it again. In the meantime, check out the page on the JIC Magic website:
