I'm sure the speedo is optimistic (thank the lawyers), but it's a GT3 with 8,200 redline and peak HP @ 7,400. Top speed per Porsche is limited to 190 (they didn't want it to be higher than the more expensive Turbo, which is 191). I hadn't hit the limiter yet when it indicated 190.

Tunnel-vision wasn't an issue. I'd gone near that speed before, so it wasn't new to me. It really hit me how quickly I was covering ground when I passed the trucks pulling the trailers. I had confidence they wouldn't suddenly do anything stupid since they're track vets and good drivers, but I don't think I'll be passing people at those speeds in the future...
Here's one for you GT3 guys, TOP SPEED RUN 332km/h

That explains it. I forgot you had a GT3.

it's funny i was searching for speedometer error and saw this. fastest GPS recorded speed was too high to post, speedo higher, but that GPS is no longer of this world. Is the there a consensus on the accepted speedo error +/- at stock rolling diameter? I feel like at 60mph it's about 3mph optimistic, by 100mph 5 or 6mph, but at higher speeds much moreso (+12 as per GPS). Obviously SIRF3 is not dead accurate either, no G-meters here.

that road has to be the fastest traveled in the US. F350s cruise over 100 all the time. It is also the most boring road. I will be driving it next week.

I did a true 160mph verified by GPS this past year in eastern Utah. My speedo said 167mph, and I was surprised I was still accelerating decently. I had recently installed ROW suspension and new wheels (not pictured) and it felt pretty good at that speed - but I won't be doing that again I don't think. It isn't often that you have a clear road ahead for miles and not a single exit/entrance ramp either - that stretch of interstate is one of the most desolate I've seen in the US.

150mph I-5 somewhere in northern CA. Felt just fine and dandy. Ran out of road.

Maybe my GPS is detuned! My speed to GPS error at that rate was +10. I am also rolling just a hair below stock diameter (still well within tolerances), which would definitely begin to show up there.

Comment about rear width vs drag, the car felt like it pulled a little faster at high speed on the stock 17s than on the 19X11s, but was much more fidgety than with big 315s. Could have also been fuel though, I was running higher test before I brought it back to Cali, threw on the 19s, and started pouring in the swill that passes for 91 octane out there.

no, I don't think so. Especially when you have three or more satellites on tap.

Speedo is approx 5 mph optimistic on mine, compared to GPS

143 on I95 in AZ - going through the military proving grounds on a 10 mile straight

Had to back off - feared that wifey would damage the seats, she was gripping so hard! LOL
