265kmh on the 401 going east in Ajax at 7am on a Sunday morning. Sorry - not sure of mph conversion. The car still had room to go - I got nervous as the front end got a bit floaty.

161 mph at the start finish line going into T1 at Daytona. 154-155 going into T1 at Brainerd. Both were recorded on a GPS.
Chad, I'm guessing your 158 was on the speedo right? That's a fairly fast spot but 158 seems optimistic even for a GT3.

Considering that my 90-year-old grandmother could/would say the same about any of us that drive 80 mph on a freeway, I'll go with the term "ill-advised" in place of "retarded".
I'd be interested in knowing where the "retarded" cutoff IS...I'd bet my 996 that the majority of Rennlist members have taken their cars over 100 mph on public roads.

If you're not trained to handle a car at speed in the given conditions, then that falls into the retarded category, regardless of whether the speed is 100mph or 65 in a 55 zone.
There are days when driving 55mph in a 55mph zone is retarded.

All depends on the situation of course. I see cars FLYING by me, zigging in and out of traffic, heavy braking behind slower cars, etc.. those are the retards. Open road ahead with no interference, no problem there. I can stop faster from 100mph than an SUV can from 80mph, plus I can handle much better, so it's no big deal.
