Default Clicking noise rear wheel area. have a listen.

I have a clicking noise at rear wheels seems like both sides. Cannot put my finger on the sound. Brakes, Tranny etc everything seems tight underneath car. Have a listen.

Wierd! DO you have hollow spoke wheels? Maybe sonmething loose inside? Have you tried putting the rear up on jacks and running it? Might be easier to diagnose that way.

Almost tried to run on jacks but got cold feet, everything seems tight underneath lugs are tight, transmission bolts tight. I did redo the brake shoes, but I did not know if it made the noise prior because I did not drive it first.

It almost sounds like something is hanging down and hitting the rear wheel occasionally. I would do the "on jacks" test.

The sound is the fact you used shoes instead of pads.

That is a weird one, I am with Tim on this one. I would put it on jack stands and idle it in like 3rd or 4th gear and look around the rear end, of course someone in the car in case the car were to fall off the stands.

I replaced the pads not the shoes just cleaned and reinstalled the hubs. They are alittle hard to turn but was chocking that up to new pads. The clicking still occured when I gently pulled the emergency brake while driving and still no change.

The clip that preloads the pads, is it installed correctly, not touching the rotor?

I hope so, but would think that would cause a squeel noise if it was not, but you never know. It does bring to mind when I jacked up the car and tried to rotate right tire that it would not and felt like it was caught on something. Well I gave it some forward and backward motion and it snapped loose and seemed to spin hard but freely after that. Think I need to take the tire off again.

Ok wheels off and up on stands at idle first gear. But still cannot isolate, not sure if it starts in tranny and works to wheel through shaft or maybe CV joints which I know nothing about. It does not seem like pads they are not grabbing and there is not any clicking vibration when I touch the calipers. The noise is more pronounced in passenger wheel. ??

odd. Try the screwdriver trick, use it to touch various parts (not moving) and put the other end to your ear. Rate the loudness 1-5 to try and isolate where the sound is coming from. Be careful!!
