Porsche 911 vs BMW M6

Great suggesion. It is definitely within the price range. I have considered the baby Aston, but I can't drive those kind of exotic cars (more exotic than the Porsche Turbos) to the office or on a daily basis. Aston looks awesome, but I don't think it could a daily driver.

By 996, yeah. In L.A. yeah. Unlike you and your friends who own Porsches and Ferraris, there are many out there who drive very average cars. Girls I know, and even brainy & street-smart guys around me believe it or not, don't know the difference between 996 and 997. Especially when seen from the side when valets pull up. To most people, 911 is a 911. 993 looks a little different from 996 & 997, but only enthusiasts can really pinpoint the headlamp changes. Some of these guys I know who are into SUV's and hayabusas & ducatis don't really follow on $90,000+ (w options) Porsche 911s and how they evolve. They can't afford Porsche 911s. To them, it's like why spend researching on cars they can't afford. Although, as for me, even if Vanquishs are a little out of my budget at this point, I follow on most exotic supercars closely. But many are not like us in the forum.
ha ha my eyes do wander most definitely. both cars and girls. I may keep the 996 and get the M6. Cheers.

i'm guessing in your woods u don't really want us to know about your friendly activities with your cousins, but to keep this on topic, the M6 is a great car and would make a fine car to drive around just probably not int he woods.

iDrive isn't all that bad. I have it in our 750 and I now understand its concept and what BMW is trying to do with it. iDrive is bad for those who don't understand it....and you won't understand it unless you own a car with it.

Nope, not everyone hates iDrive. I wish I had the same amount of control over every aspect of my car--I love plenty of technology in the dash. I think most of the people that complain about iDrive are the older people that say things like "I don't do computers."

Um the next time you tell me to take my shoes off and get in your car butt first, it better be after dinner and before great sex! =P
What's up? I laid out at the pool all day....recovering. How about you?
Oh, and back on topic. 997 IS the ONLY way to go!!

This is funny, I took a couple of girls home from a club a few weeks ago and stuffed one of them in the back, and OF COURSE I made her take her spikey heels off BEFORE I allowed her entry. She left me a myspace comment. Here it is! )

I think iDrive sounds like a pain in the ****, and I do computers.. but not when driving.

Yup, I agree. Occasionally, I look to see if there's been an attitude change, but am usually not surprised to see the same old bad attitude in the hidden posts.

Jag XK, BMW M6, Range Rover, 997
Range Rover is luxurious and all, but being a single guy, Ranger Rover doesn't just cut it for me. I need a fast sports car.
Having owned the 996 for all these years, 997 doesn't quite feel exciting as other similarly priced cars.
Test drove the BMW M6 the other day. Being 6'2", I always thought of getting a long body style car like the BMW 6 series or the Jag XK. Just today, I deleted XK from my list. 1/3 of the owners complained about many little problems. I can't afford frequent visits to dealers, I have better things to do with my time.
My review of M6: I can throw a few girls in the rear seats of an M6 (rear seats are bigger than our 911s) after partying from a night club, and still carry a couple of golf clubs in the trunk. M6 is not as charismatic as our 911s, but definitely more practical.
Anyone with similar dilemma?
