Default I highly recommend a bilstien upgrade.

After 100,000 miles she needed some refreshing....... a new set of bilstiens made a HUGE difference. I really like this car, looks like the second hundred k will be just as much fun as the first.

Did you do the PSS9 kit or just the shocks?

Surprisingly not........The quality of the shocks is just soooooo much better. The suspension just soaks up things like bridge expansion joints and rough road at high speeds. The ride is smoother and the car feels so much more sure footed, and flat as a granit slab, conering. There is nothing harsh about the ride at all.

I am a really happy camper about the results I got.

I just did Bilstein HD's, H&R springs, adjustable droplinks and new sway bar bushings. Its like driving a new car. A bit more harsh, but not uncomfortable at all. Shocks and springs on eBay for $550, droplinks from Omar for $450, bushings for $40 and install for $400 + $240 for alignment. So all in for $1700 and change.

Glenn, do the shocks and springs along result in a drop in ride height?

Hi, I am offered a set of used JIC coilover for $1500, but for that price, should I just buy a new set of PSS9 for about $1800. I also see on ebay new Ksport coilover for only $1180.
Would appreciate your comments & advise.

They did drop it. Probably about an inch in the rear and 1.25 in the front. It no longer has that weird higher in the front than back look to it. I have 18's on it and I'd say I have a one finger gap between the well and tire. I've promised someone else to shoot a picture and post. Will try and do that this weekend.

I just did ksport on MY99 Boxster with 90K miles. Car is used daily to and from work, over 20 miles one way. Coils are really good quality. You have to tie cables, piece of cake. I had to buy wheel spacers for the rear axe.

First of all, you can't beat the price. Second, on the soft setting car handle wonderful. This is the way the suspension should be. I fell so much more confident in taking corners. Actually I think I will set it up stiffer.

Set up ride height the way you want it.

Great cheap upgrade.

JIC's are excellent and rebuildable. Very good for the track with double or tripple adjustability dependingon the model. personally i would choose them over the PSS9. I've heard the Ksports are crap. They are cheap for a reason, you get what you pay for. You should also consider the Porsche X74 kit.

Quick Reply: I highly recommend a bilstien upgrade.
