A double flash is the unwritten sign.

I'd say 90% wave or flash. Women sometimes do if not on the cellphone, which is hardly ever, so I don't count them. I'd say the least likely to are are 997's. (and who cares about SUVs)

Nothing more annoying than waving at what I think is a 996, and getting a "WTF stare", only for me to see the mid engine vents and realize it's a Boxster poser that isn't waving back. No wonder 911 guys complained when the new 996 came out looking like a Boxster up front! Makes it way harder to see who to wave to, or not!

Out here in Socal, I've never had another P-car driver wave or flash, unlike the Corvette folks who do it religiously. It seems like the P-car drivers almost deliberately avoid any eye contact with the others. The only place I got a flash was from a group of Boxsters in Moab, UT when I was in my 993.

I have owned several street bikes and it is common place, I always wave. Many dont wave back and think that there **** dont stink! I think its just showing respect that we see each other, and were on there side when ****** in old 350z cut us off and try to act bad for their retarded kids! (can you tell this happened)

Maybe I need to have the WereWife flash her headlights, too

I wouldn't wave AND flash, you will look like a spastic! Flashing IMO seems very 80's. I used to do that with my Toyota 4X4 to others back in the day. With the 911 or Boxster I just give the peace sign or thumbs up and roll on if aknoledged or not.
