Default Could be the dumbest question of all time!

Alright... so i took my car to one of these supposed "touchless" car washes and it turns out the little rolling mechanism touches you rim quite a bit. Now I have bad curb rash all around my left rear rim. I have a place that will repair the rim for me, but I have to take it to them. So my questions are:

1. can i just use a regular car jack to jack up the car? or is there some special $5000 porsche jack that i have to use?

2. assuming its a regular jack, where do i place it to jack up the car so i can remove left rear rim?

3. can a tire be remounted after the rim has been fixed? its a new tire (less than 300km on it)...

Any advice would be appreciated guys!

Use a reg jack..but make sure you use jackstands or put on the spare tire if you are going to leave it on the jack for more than a few minutes.

Ther are 4 jack points.. 2 on each side of the car. 1 behind each front wheel and 1 in front each rear wheel. refer to your manual if your not sure where they are.

Yeah, you can remount the old tire.

1. regular is fine

2. can place the factory jack in the jack tabs in front of the rear tire or a regular jack under the crossmember between the eng/trans. Make sure to use the rubber pad so it doesnt scrape the aluminum.

3. Yes, you can remount

Look under the car you'll see an oval shape where the Porsche jack fits. If you don't have the Porsche jack just use a regular jack at that point.

Thanks for the answers guys. here is another question - is there any kind of torque wrench setting for the bolts? Or do I just make sure that they have a good tight fit?

Sorry, but you don't win the prize. This is not the dumbest question of all time. That award goes to Phil G. for asking "Dash symbol - how to remove the little green 3/4 circle (speedo icon with arrow) shows up on my speedometer"

Sorry, Phil, I'm feeling really evil tonight!

Lets get back to the why you took your exotic sports car to a 9.95 car wash. That is unacceptable
