Default Manual Tray

Odd title, eh? I have searched the FAQ with no luck, so I ask my question here. The tray that holds my manual under the driver's side dashboard has come loose. There are two plastic, what look like expansion anchors, that have come adrift. I tried to push them back into place with no luck. Any suggestions on what to do to recify the situation? Does anyone have the repair manual that shows this situation? Thanks in advance.

Hell I would like to remove it myself, but then I would not know where to place the manual pouch unless I place it under the seat.

Sorry I could not help with fixing the problem, bu tif you have insight on what I would like to do let me know.

Hello, when I purchased my 99 it did not have a manual tray. I got one from a fellow Rennlister.

The plastic tabs were broken off. In searching for a way to remount the tray;
I used 2 very short sheet metal screws that fit inside the holes in the tray. On my 99 there is a metal base under the covering where the tray was originally attached. I did some reaching and feeling and looking around to verify there was not any wiring harness etc. I was able to very securely reattach the tray using 2 very short sheet metal screws into its original location. worked well for me. Good luck.

since u are off topic any way... here is a mod I made to the Manual Tray. I cut apart a plastic trash can, trimmed it to fit inside and close the gap at the back of the tray then dyed the plastic Savannah. I use it hold my PORSCHE 160 gig hard drive. It plays music and Movies on this unit in the dash.

I keep my manual in the "boot" (trunk).

It knocks my knees under the steering wheel. Just rip that holder thing off...

I just removed mine, seemed out-of-place. Like an afterthought on a beautiful car. The manuals will go in the trunk or under the passenger seat.

Hey Seeeu911, do you have any pictures of your car w/ the black turbo twists on it? TIA.
