Quick gray interior question
Guys, how does the gray interior hold up? My beige scratches too easy and I didnt want to go through the same with gray. Is it durable? Is black more durable than gray?
I found 2 - '02's with gray (really want black) and wondering if I should hold out for black or not. TIA Cory

Tippy -- I think if you really want black, you should hold out for it. I have the 996 Graphite Grey and I like it, but it's not for everyone (especially if you really want black). The grey is easier (I think) to look a bit dull and bland, especially compared to the darker grey of the 997 Stone Grey or the really dark almost black Natural Grey. I think it needs a bit of contrasting trim to help break it up.
On the plus side, Graphite Grey doesn't seem to show dust as much as black, but shows some scuff marks a bit more.

I went from black to grey... grey holds up fine, no scratches on mine. Black is great because it probably ages the best and never looks dirty. I wouldnt hold out for a black interior if you found a gray one you really liked. The biggest plus for grey is it makes the interior feel much roomier. Ross

Cory - When I was looking for a 996, I found 5 or 6 cars that had the options I wanted but passed on them because they HAD black interiors. I just don't like cars with black interiors. Dark colored interiors get hotter than lighter colored interiors, which is just what you need in SA. I will NEVER drive a car with a black interior.
I have Graphite Gray interior and I really like it. I also have the Metropol Blue deviating carpet, which makes the interior look a little darker than an all gray interior. It holds up well. I agree with Alpha1, that gray does not show dust as much as black.

Alpha1 - What color is your exterior?
Here is a link to a post with a few interior pics of my car. I am curious to know what you think of the combination after you see the pics.

Well, thanks for the replies guys. The place that had the '02's didn't want to give enough for my trade so I had to pass.
Tim - Ah yes, you know SA well and I agree with the heat, that is the biggest reason I want a silver or white car. Yours looks great and it is the only deviating carpet one I have ever seen. So what you say, since you wanted to sale your car earlier, how about $38K for yours...... j/k
