Default Chassis Flex?

Since everyone says the 996 coupe's chassis is real stiff, then I must have a problem. When I pull up into my driveway I go from flat street to a steep incline (always a right turn), I hear a nasty creak and groan from the right side, indicating some chassis flex. Also, when I jack the car up from the left rear mount, I have to pump it up pretty high for the left front wheel to get off the ground.

Do I have a soft chassis? Is there anything I can do to tighten it up without buying extra braces, etc?

I'm going to say that what you are seeing and hearing is fairly normal. The situation you describe puts a good torsional load on the chassis and it will definitely flex a little in that scenario.

Mine creaks a bit too in that situation, although it's mostly the windshield I hear squeaking in it's mount.

I get the same thing when I exit the driveway at my office complex. The is the only place I hear a "pop" sound, almost like an acorn falling onto the roof of my car.

The 996 chassis is stiff compared to most street cars, the 996 Mk II and 997's are even stiffer. That being said, I was amazed to what how much the car flexed between the A pillar and the clubsport cage I had. Now, I have a Cup cage which is connected to the A and B and stiffened up the chassis much more.

Hmmm, I don't have to lift the 996 very far on the front or rear jack point to get both wheels off the ground

When I jack the car up from the one of the rear jack points, I can get three wheels off the ground.
