Just Cleaned and Polished Tips *PICS*
I woke up this morning and decided to clean my exhaust tips. I used stuff that was just lying around the house - and a few things that I had left over from another project. I didn't even take the mufflers off the car.
The results are night and day! I highly recommend that the cleaning step be done even if you don't have polish or a dremel, since even that makes a HUGE difference in appearance.
Start = Very Dirty
I used a simple kitchen sponge that had a green srubber on it to get the grime off. As you can see, even this makes the tip look 100 times better.
Next I used some 2000 grit sand paper and wet sanded the tip. Total time for the cleaning - 5 minutes. Not a bad result for 5 minutes.
=======================================
I used Mother's Mag Polish (bought at a drive through car wash last year) to polish the tip. I put a layer on and wiped it with a paper towel. This yielded OK results. But the layer was too thick, and took forever to get off. So I put on a VERY thin layer and got out the dremel tool with the long adapter. I put on the polishing head and went to work. And WOW, nice and polished. The polishing took about 20 minutes as the head on my dremel is small - which is perfect since there isn't much room to work between the rear bumper and the tip.

Here is the passenger side before and after

Teaser: Since my car recently hit 50K miles, I decided to do some upgrades. I put in the ROW M030 suspension, some new 5 spoke rims, wheels, and had Ruf put on a wing and side skirts - but the Ruf front bumper is in route. So no pics for now, until the beast is ready But the car looks like a completely differet Porsche!

The exhause tips look GREAT!
However, the "teaser" about the ROW M030 suspension, some new 5 spoke wheels, Ruf wing and side skirts and Ruf front bumper really SUCKS! That was NOT nice to tease us like that!
