Default Sebring this weekend...expensive tech inspection

Hey guys,

Anyone going to the PBOC event at Sebring this weekend? I'd like to hook up for a beer.

Got my tech inspection yesterday -- and again today... ouch. Front pads were borderline, they recommended new front rotors too. Rear camber was canted in so far at top the inside edge of the rear tires had steel cable showing (and lots of tread on the rest of the tire.) I don't know how I didn't see this before. So two new Contis ($615) and front pads, and alignment. Total bill was $1,200. Funny I don't mind paying for "wear-out" items and since the car is so new to me I love knowing that it's been gone over thoroughly. Bone dry RMS and it's an 1998 delivery date with no prior RMS replacement.

Found out my car has Eibach springs over the original stock dampers. I think the shocks and struts are pretty toasted. That will probably be first significant mod later this summer (birthday gift to self) thinking PSS9 or X74 though I have done no research yet.

Tech let me hang out for 4 hours while he worked and I learned a lot and had some fun.

Okay...just re-read this and realized what a boring post this is... but I really need a beer Friday night so respond if you'll be at Sebring. Have a good week. Jack

This Sat and Sun is a PBOC (combined Porsche Owners Club and BMW Owners Club) drivers education event and a PBOC/NASA sprint and enduro race. Novice through Racers welcome. Open spots last time I looked. (No affiliation but it's a fun cheap way to enjoy your car on the track.)

I won't be there but my dad will be. His name is Sandy and he's got a Subie WRX STi in blue. It is likely that my uncle Bob (red 996) will also be there. Also likely that Mitch may be there with his red 997 GT3. All 3 of them are long-time instructors.
If you stop by to say 'hi' tell them Adam sent ya.

Spoke to my uncle last night and he will be there. Red 996 with some light mods. PBOC has some really great folks - have a great time. Wish I could be there, but my Porsche is being delivered to the house today! 2002 Lapis/Savannah C4S!!!!! See avatar for pic

For whatever it's worth, it's a red 04 996, number is 100 and as Adam says, stop by and introduce yourself. Chances are we'll be at Foreign Affairs stable along with other drivers.

It's a good question regarding the attendance for an event, but try asking it on the "racing-de" thread and you'll get more replies. Just my .02.
