Default Tri-State area scenic drives?

Spring is here and my severely miles-deprived car needs to get out more (I understate). I live in Southern CT and am looking for the usual suspects: twisties, nice scenery, not terribly clogged with traffic, and sufficiently long to be enjoyable (10 miles of twisties is fun, but much more is much better).

One thing I usually do is the Merritt Parkway all the way up to New Haven. Not terribly twisty, but the scenery can be striking, especially in the Spring and Fall.

Can you guys suggest some more? Nice back roads in CT, NY and NJ are all welcome!

Cheers

Storm king Mountain and Bear Mtn. Have the same twisties. In fact, it might be the same area. You can also visit West Point on your way. (Bear Mtn. to West Point, then through to Storm King) I used to do that every sunday on my Suzuki 750. I live in Albany now but that's where I'd go!

That looks awesome. It also looks dangerous.

Scary brake marks at the lower left of your photo. Hard to tell if the wall is scuffed, but it's about the right height to flip a car right down the mountain. Did you peer over the edge there?
