Default Aluminum Gauge rings

Notice a variety of aluminum guage rings for sale ranging in different prices. $99-$189.
Does the rule apply here.. you pay for what you get?
Is there a difference in quality? If so, where is the best place to buy them?

Appreciate the advice

I can't speak for what I didn't buy, but the ones from the Bumper Plugs guy are quite good. Metal, not plastic, flawless finish, perfect fit, nice match to the other metallic surfaces in the car. I doubt you'd be disappointed.

That would actually be my next mod, and I've been checking out this item on ebay. It looks kinda a little too shiny here, I prefer the brushed aluminum or titanium finish like the OEM ones (door handles, etc.)in the car.

EBAY

What do you guys think? Any recommendations?

well... when i look at the earlier model porsche's with the alum look... they look nice and more classy.... so i might just get those instead.. but it won't match the interior if i decided to do the center console... etc......

I bought it new on ebay...again...lol...like $300 un installed with the crest on it...I think its this one:

Ruf Style steering wheeel

Its the same as the Ruf steering wheel without Ruf on the airbag...
Ruf Steering wheel

I think the OEM manufacturer for all of them is Raid-RDI or Atiwe-RDI

http://www.atiwe-rdi.com/englisch2/home.htm

Gemballa is also the same design as well......

CosmosC4S: I got mine from maxspeed. I don't think they are too shiny. They match the rest of my alu parts very well and the quality seams fine to me.

I have one set on the 911 that are metal and aluminum in color. I just got a set from Eric at Bumperplugs for the Boxster. Great looking set that looks dead on Arctic Silver.

Bought mine from vertex when they were having their christmas sale. Paid 80.00 with free shipping. Lowest price I have seen yet. Now the bad. The silver color had a blotchy look, and the metalics were too large. I shot them with an aluminum color spray can paint and they look much better. The aluminum rings did fit very well though. So for a little work I still got my moneys worth.
