Interesting.

This is also why the PSE wasn't even part of the X51 option on the 996.

Ruf on the other hand, has dyno tested the PSE and not a single HP increase with the PSE on the Carrera or the Turbo. Just give Hans or Bob at Ruf Autocentre a call. This is a different case with aftermarket exhaust, including Ruf's, with improved designs.

I installed the PSE in my 2003 Carrera back in 2009 and its the best OE improvement I have done in my car ( second being the M030 Sports Suspension RoW) . Speaking with a couple of other chaps that they have put on the PSE in 996 Carreras both dyno'd their car and the HP increase shown in both cases was 4-5 HP ......

@5 HP..that is like a 1.67% gain in HP (5/300 * 100). Is it really worth it to pay and retrofit all that apparatus? Now as for the sound.....

PSE has been known to cause abnormal growth of the right leg; in some individuals, the calf muscle becomes so distended that they are resigned to a life of wearing cargo shorts.

Other than that, there is no known performance difference.

After selecting the correct year, accelerate to 88mph and drive directly to the Porsche dealership.

The PSE is the best sounding exhaust I have ever heard on a modern 911. It is absolutely outstanding and without highway drone.

You aren't too far off from our shop a little outside of Philly. If you are ever in the area stop in and say hello, I think you might find some of our setups on the 911 quite enjoyable

(Sorry, but I can't help myself)

Best money ever spent on a set of cans? I think NOT!

And oh, BTW, nice necro thread revival.

Cant argue on the set of cans above !!!!

As for the PSE its pretty pricey these days i got mine fron Suncoast shipped to Greece all together the cost inc installation at Porsche Athens was round 1600euros or so , these days the PSE along is like 5-6K !!!!

The sound is amazing and I have bought a secong relay for the PSE exhaust and put a switch on it so i can have the PSE open at all times when i decide to wake up all of my neighbours. I tell you the sound of it being on all times is amazing .... Porsche should have made apart from the deactivation switch the on all times switch . I am thinking of retrofitting another OE PSE dashboard switch connected to the relay and turn it all at all times from this switch ( and keep the deactivation switch at the other side of the dash LOL) . Any feedback on that crazy thought appreciated but the crazy idea to put a relay with a switch definitely was worth the 60euros cost !!!!

Quick Reply: Does PSE add any power or is it just for sound purposes?
