Default Got egged. Argh!

Let me preface by saying I live in a transitional neighborhood in DC (Adams Morgan) so on my street I have million dollar condos adjacent to subsidized housing. In my garage alone, we have a Murci, 360 spyder, 996TT, Maserati, and my humble 996 Cab along with your assorted BMW's and Mercs. I've often wondered what our less fortunate neighbors must think when watching the constant trafiic in and out of your garage. Now I know.

As I was leaving my garage last night for dinner, my windshield was covered in an explosion of white and yellow. I immediately pulled over and jumped out to scan the streets and windows, to no avail. So I went back in and spent 45 minutes getting all that crap off the windshield and paint. Fortunately or unfortunately, I had just gotten my car washed and waxed.

I'm a pretty open minded guy but I have to admit, I thought twice about my choice in neighborhoods. Oh well, at least it hit the windshield and not a body panel.

No kidding. Someone did get killed there not too long ago. But with the anger of the moment, I was ready to run into the projects and start knocking on doors demanding to search their fridges.

Sorry to hear about that. Transitional is spot on. You'll have to take your lumps for a while. That's why I lived in Falls Church and would hit the bars in Adams Morgan, etc.. Never thought about moving closer in to the district with the convenience of the Metro by my townhouse.

Grim. I'm thinking mr. "hunt them down" has never been to a transitional neighborhood in DC. Maybe he'd like to volunteer his services???

My house was egged and my SUV was shot with a paintball gun this Halloween. First time ever in the 10 years I've been in this house. They shot a few other cars that were parked on the street that night too. So in short it can happen anywhere even in neighborhoods that aren't being gentrified.

Yep - just feel greatful that they didn't hit the paint with the eggs.

I had that happen, and it left a nice ringed mark that never fully buffed out of my last car

Can happen anywhere - people are people, and many of them are idiots!

Why is it that eggs are so damaging? My Jeep Cherokee was egged 20 years ago, and I've never forgotten the permanent damage to the paint on the A pillar.

They seem so harmless, those eggs.

There are 2 problems...first the shell which is hard as h*ll, then there is the acid in the soft material. So it first scratches the paint and then etches it.

Counting my blessings. My neighbor got his roof slashed and his gps stolen out of his Boxster. Bunch of damage to the body too where they stepped on it to get in the car. I'm going to leave my top down all the time...

Of course then I'll have to put it up when I leave the garage to defend from flying eggs.

Sorry to hear that.

Still, it is better to live right in the city with nightlife and no commute than to live out in the burbs with hours of commuting in rush hour traffic each day and the silent tranquility of death in the evenings

And I really like the trunk monkey idea . . . just don't spank it if it's bad
