X51 kit for which model year and engine?
What does the "kit" consist of?
The price seems extremely cheap and tread with care.
Remember the original X51 upgrade for the 3.4L engine cannot be installed on a US version 996 because the X51 heads do not have the Secondary air injection ports.
I have not researched the 3.6L X51 kit to see what that is yet.
Ciao,
Adrian.

That would be a very very good price for a 3.6L X51. I don't remember what I paid but I recall that it was $6-8k. It should consist of heads, intake manafold, cams, headers, oiling kit, etc. Obviously installation is a pretty big deal.

Or is the major cost the installation?

Mind you we are still waiting for some details on this kit.
For 2K I cannot believe it is complete regardless of what it's for, unless it's off a wrecked engine.

Adrian.

I found it on

Upgrade X51 engine (Raises power output to 381 HP) FVD 996 100 X51
Price: $2,000
MSRP: $2,970
Mod. 996 C4S 3.6 / C4 3.6 / C2 3.6 / C4 3.4 / C2 3.4
Maybe it's an upgrade for X51 engines and not the actual X51 kit?

It will cost you over 10K (nearly 11K for the 3.6L) before you can even use this upgrade.
Somehow I don't believe their figures showing a 335hp to 381hp increase for the 3.4L engine for just 2K either.
350 to 381hp for the 3.6L is also a stretch for the price.

Adrian.
