Ouch! I feel for you. Time to start taking the kids off the insurance. I think I'd stop driving with insurance that high. I guess it doesn't help that you're in NY.

So Dave, how are you liking the Infiniti?

We are generally pleased with the infinity. Well built, lots of features comfortable seats great suspension. Find the electronic gadgets cumbersome and the engine noise a bit loud. engine is very powerful. We have the X model and it sucks gas though. You like yours?

I've got the 2WD version, none of the silly options, and am a bit disappointed in the gas mileage. On my mostly in-town commute, I'm averaging right around 20 MPG. I don't find the engine noise too loud except when cruising on the I-state; otherwise I don't mind hearing it growl a bit when I'm accelerating. My biggest (and only real) complaint is the transmission - it is too aggressive to downshift and the upshifts are not smooth enough. Overall I like the car and if it continues to remain trouble-free, then I will probably keep it after the lease is over.

I'm in Massachusetts, where the state sets the rates. I just insured a 1999 C2 Cab for $1187 a year. That's with a perfect driving record, $500 deductible, and 500/300 liability.
