Default 996 GIAC Chip?

I want to get some more performance out of my '02 996 C2 and I'm pretty green at aftermarket stuff and Porsches in general (let's say I've got 3 monthly payments worth of knowledge). I've read about intakes, exhausts, suspension mods, etc but one thing that I can't seem to figure out is if the GIAC chip works in a tiptronic car. The list I saw only listed 6 speeds. Do ya know if this chip or another brand will work and even if it is worth the $$$ for the small increase in performance? Thanks.

Joe

I believe the average hp gains on a chip/flash on our NA cars is ~ 10hp...

Personally for me, the bang per buck is too low for me to consider a chip...maybe if it was $400-500...

Just flashed my tip last week cost $1000 with dyno included. Have schnell intake with k&n, ap mufflers, and the car is a tip. I got 12/hp&12/tq. Car runs smoother and is crisper in response. Hope this helps. JW

Anybody done the GIAC chip flash as well as the Evom V-Flow air induction system and their sport exhaust? They claim a 25-30 HP gain and 18-20 TQ gain? I'm scheduled to take my 966 in for this mod in 2 weeks.

I have the GIAC and the Evom but a stock exhaust. I have never dyno'd though.
