So I went out and bought a set of 997 Sport Design wheels for my 1999 C2 (lowered with H&R)...
19x8 (57 offset)
19x11 (67 offset)
I now need rubber. I've done all my research. I've search these forums, done my tire size calculations, call the dealership, etc... and everyone seems to have a different story.
I don't know if I should be buying a 295/30/19 or a 315/25/19. Based on my calculations, 315 has the proper overall diameter. However, I'm not sure if the width with result in rubbing. From the people that I've spoken to, some feel very strongly that I get the 295 while the others say the opposite.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

If your using OEM Porsche wheels the correct size tires on a 997 C2S are:
front:235/35-19
rear:295/30-19
The 997 C4S sizes are:
front:235/35-19
rear:305/30-19
go with the 295's. on your narrow body 996 I don't think you can fit anything much wider.

I have 315 on my car and don't have any rubbing issues, but keep in mind I only have a M030 ROW suspension. The 315 will fit on a 11" wheels. FWIW I would get the 295 for the reason is that the extra height of the tire might give a little more ride comfort. When I went with the 19s and the 315 I notice a big difference in ride comfort. I will probably get the 295 next time.

Thanks everyone for the input. I ended up getting 295/30/19 in the rear.
I just put the wheels on yesterday. Overall, I'm happy with the wheels. They've filled out my fenders and I have no rubbing issues. I haven't noticed much deterioration in ride quality.

pobox.....did you add a spacer to the front? The fronts from your photo look "in" a bit. The 997 front will have a -7mm offset compared to the 996 wheels. Not a good idea from an understeer point of view. As far as aesthetics, to each his own.
