Drivers' height and overall size of carreras
I was getting in my black C2 coupe, and this Asian woman in early 40's who works at the same building with whom I have exchanged glances on a few occasions, saw me open my car door, then said "oh, my. such a tall person getting into such a small car." Btw, I'm 6'2. By that comment, I don't think she knew what kind of car it was. I wonder if she would have made the same comment, had she known it was a Porsche. Actually, one of my blind dates did make a comment that I have such a small car for my height. At that time, I know that she didn't even know what Porsches were. She was new to the States, and didn't know Benz from BMW, those types that are well-educated but not street smart. Believe me, there are these types out there.
Anyway, I have to admit that I was not fond of Porsches in the 80's and 90's. I think they were much rarer back then, and when I saw one on the street, I used to point my finger and made comments about its rare-looking design. However funny-looking they were to me then, they made presence. I knew how expensive they were, but being tall, and the car having squatty design, I didn't think I 'd look good in it. But having owned one for 3 years, I don't think I can get rid of it. I am still trying to add long-body cars like XK's and BMW 6-series to my collection, hopefully soon.
I'm curious. How many tall drivers are there? Anyone over 6'2"?

I'm 4'5". Am I too small for the car? I use a telephone book on the seat and wooden blocks on my shoes. What really stinks is that when I drive with 3 or more people in the car, they make me sit in the back seat.

Do our cars have backseats?
I'm 6'2". I fit in the car perfectly. Everyone that ends up in my car can't believe the room in it. I have a buddy with a 350Z and I have WAAAAY more interior room and luggage capacity than he does.
I had a 928 before this, and that car had more leg room than any other car I can ever remember being in.
For a design that has packaging challenges, the 911 engineers sure got it right.

6'4" in the morning
6'3" in the evening
I've noticed that it makes a big difference to how much space I have on my commute to and from work.
Incidentally, I just put the regular electric seats back in after a month with GT3s, and I can't believe how squidgy and overstuffed (and high) they are. I may swap the driver's seat back on Saturday.
