Default Oops... can't move seats forward

Guess I goofed... was installing my remotetop and had to take the drivers seat out to get to the black box under the seat. After I finished, I put the 2 bolts in the rear of the seat rails in loosely and moved the seat back to put the front two bolts in. After I tightened the front bolts I wanted to move the seat forward to tighten the rear two bolts, but the seat only moved a little bit (guess the seat gets stuck on the loose bolts).. problem is that I can't get to these bolts to tighten them. Anybody know what to do???

If you have electric seats try raising the seatup. This may clear the bolts. Also, are you sure the seat is hitting the bolts? It may be a problem with the elctronic controls, is the motor running?

I think the seat tracks got out of sync. That is one seat of tracks is lining up with one set of adjustment holes, while the other set is lining up with a slightly different set of holes in the slider section of the seat. The cure I used to get the tracks into the alignment holes in the floor was by pulling up on the fore aft release handle (the one you use to move the seat back and forth) and pushing one set of tracks into place while the other set was already in the alignment holes. This worked with my manual sliders. Hope it helps..

Tried raising the seatsup... doesn't work. The mother does work... seat moves a couple of inches and then stops.

don't have a release handle, so unfortunately this doesn't work either...

Can you pry the rear part of the rails up, so the rails move up toward the bolt heads? If so, maybe you could then put shims under each rail to hold them up so you could move the seat forward.

Doesn't work either. May have to bring it to the dealer... what do you think... hopefully warranty covers?

Can you lift the entire seat assembly back out of the car? Then you can get underneath to the bolts.

How would you do that?

I'm just wondering if the rails are completely jammed down or not. Could you post a picture please?

Loosen your front bolts that you put in, just enough to get some movement in the rails. Sounds like you might have the 2 rails not parallel to each other.

If that works, then slowly tighten the seat rails back and forth until they are torqued correctly.
