Default MKII aero kit on '99-01 996

I was just on 6speedonline and saw a post from a proud new owner. This guy just got a beautiful MY99 996 with an aero kit. It looks like the aero kit is MKII, which I thought only fit on MY02+. The fenders/headlights have not been changed, but the side skirts and front bumper looks like the MKII. I would love to put a MKII aero kit on mine without having to change the headlights and fenders. Has anyone seen this before...or know where I could get one? Thanks!

He's got the MKII front bumper/sidekskirts and the rear spoiler is MKI 'taco wing'. There are a lot of aftermarket shops that sell these parts now for a 99-01. I saw a few ads in excellence thats selling what you are looking for. Let me look and I'll post them later....

Those are definately Mk II sideskirts. The wing is the Mk I "taco".

However, the front is not the Mk II front (it wont fit with the old headlights). I'm not sure what "front" that is......

Its the mk II skirts, which fit no prob, and an aftermarket GT3 mk II "look" front for the 99-01 car.

I am not a fan of mixing Mk's. However, I am pretty sure I saw a MkII front to fit 99-01 cars in a Performance Products catalog for $995.

You can get the MKII front from Precision Porsche out in Cali. I think Mashaw make the MKII front now, call him to make sure since it'll be a better fit.

Vove,

Which will be a better fit? Are those for the pre-facelift version ('99-01)? And I have heard that polyurethane is better than fiberglass. Right?

If Mashaw has it then I would definitely go with him since I've seen the quality and the fitment on his parts. Precision porsche's parts are okay as far as fitment and quality goes. Betterbodies have it for the 99-01 too but I have not seen their product in person.
Polyurethane is better than fiberglass since the materials give more so its not prone to cracks like fiberglass plus the paint comes out better on poly'. Call around, you'll be surprise how many aftermarket shops make these for the 99-01 nowadays.

Make sure you get it to fit good before the paint go on and do a good job of prepping it prior to painting. There's also a supercup lip that you can purchase to go along with the spoiler if you want to go extreme.
