I was a little surprised to see this ad (forwarded by a friend):

Have prices for 99s fallen lately? That is quite a bit lower than what I expected. Quite a deal for someone on the look out.

Well, I guess I reacted too quickly. There are some cars on Ebay that are in that price range for those many miles.
As time moves on, I guess, prices are bound to fall...

Not very much information, but it appears the car is very lightly optioned, it is a very early production 99 (see the bi-colored head lights), 17" wheels, and while I like the color it was has not been a popular color, the tiptronic can really limit the potential buyers, and the seller wants to limit the transactions to local only. All these factors can really effect the value IMO.

Tiptronic is about 1100 more than a manual believe it or not for that model year. I'm looking at selling my Arena Red 99 C4 Tip with 18" turbo wheels, full leather and wood interior. Price in 1999 was 98.5k, it's pretty heavily optioned. It has 43k miles and has a 3 year extended warranty remaining. I'm looking for 34k.

I think interior quality and a bad rep on "the boards" keeps the '99 model values low. As a potential buyer, that's a good thing. But not so good for sellers.. I've seen quite a few dip comfortably below the $30k mark. Usually they are lightly optioned, but some are just in a hurry to sell.
