This is a great thread and all, but I can't help but chuckle a little every time I think of someone getting all intense in their car and all of a sudden having what sounds like a shot-gun going off right behind them. I just can't help it. I'm sure that'll straighten you out in a fraction of a second and ruin a good drive.
Of course, my remedial idea of good humor is scaring people with fake snakes dragged across a sidewalk by fishing line in front of people, so maybe it's just me. *shrug*

The pics that show the rollover protection system deployed THROUGH the window or hardtop glass may be attributed to the hard rear impact buckle that pushes them further up. The only way to determine the truth as to where they stop is to deploy them with the top DOWN and then install the hardtop to see how close they in fact are.....or conversely if they are to far up that prohibits the top from being installed.

In my friends 99 M3 Cabriolet, he took a turn a little too fast and the rear protection shot up right through the plastic window... bad for him, hilarious for onlookers... Ross
