Just read something on the sharkwerks website 470bhp for 996 for $10,000

Any opinions suggestions or experience with those evo kits?

mario, that is most likely the EVO Motorsports supercharger kit. At the moment, they seem to be the kit of choice as they are a good package, OEM-like look and quality, with no reported blown motors that i know of. Many people have reported on the forums of favorable reviews after many kms.

THe other option is the TPC charger kit, which is a different blower unit which i believe gives you more power in the low-end. I'm not too familiar with it, but VividRacing (a fellow board sponsor) is running it on their demo car and can give you some more info on that one.

Well it does include labor in that price, so it doesnt seem THAT outrageous for a Pcar...

Any pictures of that kit?

The 3.4l kit is 13K Euro's including install not bad I guess though it seems a few pieces of hardware is missing.

I was wondering about a single turbo kit.

I drove a car with the EVOMS supercharger -- wow! fast! I don't know how I would like the sound on a daily basis however, just has an annoying tone to it. That said -- counting the days until my warranty expires...

Search through old threads in this forum for info. There may also be people in the racing/DE forum with more specific info on cost/install.

assuming a 996turbo is 420HP at 3300lbs thats 7.85hp per LB

the TPC kit makes 434HP (crank according to their website for the 3.4L) and assuming you can get your car to about 2800lbs that would mean 6.45hp per LB...but on a RWD platform.

I have the EVOMS Supercharger on my 99 C2. It is truly worth the money and IMO better than the turbos because for everyday use, there is no lag. IMO, for low-end through the corners and stoplight to stoplight performance the supercharger is the best choice. IMO, for all out top speed, the turbos are the best choice. Make sure to have the EVOMS system installed by someone who really knows what the hell they are doing and isn't afraid to ask EVO's or VF Engineering's techs for help if they even think they have a question. The EVOMS system is a very well designed and tight fit. If the system is installed incorrectly or shoe-horned into place it will cause damage to your engine or other engine bay parts such as the a/c compressor rubbing a hole in the charge-cooler.

GMG Racing in Santa Ana, CA fixed my system for me after another shop in LA botched the install. GMG really knows what they are doing on P-cars and is top notch for an installation of the EVOMS system. Plus, GMG's shop is only 10 minutes away from VF Engineering who co-designed the EVOMS system, so if there is a problem in the installation, VF is right there to fix it. VF Engineering and Evolution Motorsports both provide excellent customer service and make their technicians readily available to both you and the installers.

Doc - I'm sure those "scratches" will buff right out! BTW - what happened to that car? Too much power?

Nah, he was running around on track tires and got caught in a thunderstorm on the highway, lost control and spun her through the ditch bouncing off a few things on the way. It makes you want to cry seeing the car, because it was beautiful. He was also a very experienced on the track, and I don't think he was speeding when it happened. At least everyone was ok. It shows the protection the interior of a 996 provides you, he hit hard enough to bend all 4 fikse rims, busted a rear control arm, and badly damaged every panel on the car with the exception of the rear tail and bumper cover. As well you can see the impact the front took. Interior was untouched other than the airbags going off and some broken glass (DS window shattered).

Doc, those pictures make the baby Jesus cry. Glad to hear no one was hurt. I'll spread the word on the parts.

The RGT was based off the Mk1 GT3 motor right? What about the rest of the chassis, was that a conversion done based on a '99 C2 or a RWD C4 chassis?
