That may bother some people but it doesn't seem to bother a lot of people who put aftermarket suspension pieces, mufflers, brakes, seats, and sound equipment in or on their cars.

That being said, I was not happy to have to replace the center section but the savings were so significant that I felt I did not have a choice.

In case anyone would like to have an OEM center section that is guaranteed to bubble the paint, I have one you can have!!!!

These bumpers also fit the boxsters, so let your 986 friends know too!

Would anything else be required to use this bumper on my 1999 996?

Nothing else is needed. I just replaced mine two weeks ago, and it was a straight swap and a perfect fit. You can re-use all the existing screws and rivets. I had a bigger ordeal with the *#@^&* wheel lock key!

The bumpers use all existing hardware, the skirts come with a hardware kit.

ZX, there is a optional lower lip spoiler thats available for 70 bucks or so. Most don't use it though as it is history as soon as it touches anything.

Anyone have their Aero Kit painted by DPS? Was the job good? My car is artic silver, so I feel like it should be relatively easy, right?

I did, and mine is also arctic silver. As far as I can tell, the color-match is near perfect. If you're going the DPS route, just make sure to verify beforehand their paint guy is not sick, so the turnaround time will be as expected. Sorry Dayton, couldn't resist!

ZX, I'll go snap some pics of mine if I can make it home before night-fall. Otherwise, it may have to wait til this weekend.

Dayton is painting up my bumper and side skirts as we speak. I'll post comments on the match when they arrive.

It's a good thing that I have a sense of humor.

...you don't know how hard it is waiting for the new toy to arrive. almost as bad as the days I had to wait to take delivery of the car.

Although, it's not as though I'll be able to install them immediately anyway. I'm glad to see that everyone else is clamoring for them also.... I can't wait to post new pics in the spring. I'll make sure that you get copies.

Dayton,

For my '01 996 what part numbers am I looking at on your website? Also, do you offer painting, if so how much $?

Last, I recall reading some posts on this board advising not to get a front aero unless the corresponding rear wing is added - anything to this?

Thanks!
