Porsche sport exhaust extra hp????
I realize porsche says the sport exhaust does not give additional HP but, I was told by a Porsche rep that they simply do not want to test it and it may give extra hp. What gives? How could it not increase hp?

Same intake, same cams, same ignition, same headers. There really couldn't be much change from one exhaust component switch without making other changes to take advantage of it, and besides the OE muffler is not as parasitic as many may assume. Less backpressure by itself might also shift the powerband higher in revs, i.e. you could lose some low-end torque.
That is not to say that the potential power of the engine is not increased, the reduced backpressure is simply not meaningfully exploited by the stock motor.
Still a nice part to have, certainly sounds fast.

I just removed my aftermarket exhaust for a variety of reasons that sounded good at the time...I digress so don't get me started . With the stock exhaust low RPM (2-4k)throttle response is slightly crisper with a notable loss in top-end high RPM (5-7k)pull. Of course, the sound of the stock system sucks.

But because of the extra sound raising the adrenaline and heart rate, it should be good for at least a half second a lap, and probably more.
If PCNA claimed a power increase, my instinct tells me they would have to re-certify the engine with US Feds for emissions, mileage, who knows what else. But I really don't profess to know the in's and out's of that particular game.

That is pretty much what the rep said. I have a question though, will I lose low end torque???

It is solely designed to alter the sound of the car.

I have had baffles removed out of the stock porsche exhaust from ogner porsche and larger tips and what ever else was done. Do I have any more hp gained. I bought the car that way, and I have nothing to compare it to. Sound great though.

If EVERYTHING else is left OE but the factory sports muffler, I would bet the difference is less than the car to car variation from manufacturing tolerances.
Claiming more power would hardly require Porsche to re-smog the powertrain, that rumor came from marketing.

Darren911, it was done at the Porsche Dealership The Dealer has since changed ownership. There was only one mechanic there that would do it from my understanding. This was done with the previous owner. It does sound incredable. Ogner Porsche is where it was done. Muffers opened up baffles removed and mufflers reseamed or rewelded. I do not know enough about the procedure.
