What's a Parrot 3200? I like the V1 install.

you could have put the mic. in the special mic place on the left side of your gauges.....let me know how that parrot systems works..would like to have something like it...BMW comes standard with the bluetooth hookup and it is a great and save system!

I thought the same thing, and even asked that question here. A few replies later, and a little research indicated that the dash cluster location is not the best location for a handsfree mic. That location is intended for the automatic volume control adjustment mic. When there's more noise "inside" the cabin, the stereo volume goes up. It might work, but I didn't even contemplate it after my research project.

As for the Parrot- it's awesome. It integrates into the stereo and goes to "Phone" on the head unit with any call. It takes some time to program the voice commands though. The nice size color screen is great as well - although I can't seem to get the pictures to show up. I've heard that Motorola also makes a great handsfree unit, but get the Parrot if you like having a view screen.

Nice install!!! A friend of mine has the Parrot and is really happy with it. Works great - good clean sound. Great mic and speaker. I'm concidering getting one as well.

SonyEricsson is about to release a bluetooth car speaker phone that does not require any installation. I read somewhere it will be available in June? I'll try and check it out before I make a final decision on the parrot... if I can wait.

Didn't he install the system using the car's speakers and connecting it to the radio for mute function?

Yes, he did. When I tried it the quality of the phone call was very good - like talking to someone in the car :-)

td 873 - how did you wire up the kit? I have read a little about the install since I'm up to buy a ck3000 evo or ck3100 but there's nothing specific to the 996 and the parrot. Sounds like I might have a problem wiring the telephone speaker output because of the amplifier? How did you do it? Did you make use of any adapters? I have the same audio setup as you have except that I swapped my headunit with a becker traffic pro highspeed.
