Thumbs up Your key MIGHT work after it goes through the laundry.

Tested it out today. Can still remotely unlock and lock the 996 and the key is clean with a fresh scent.

Washer settings: normal duty cycle, cold/cold, Woolite.
Dryer settings: permament press, medium heat, Snuggle fabric softener.

Durrr......

e'trashed - I've gotta hand it to you, you've got ***** for reporting that you washed and tumble dried your key! Most of us would probably never tell another soul about the “incident.”

Not so good luck with mine. Try to open the doors and the trunk unlatches. New key on order $375.00 wash bill.

Heh, I felt like I needed closure on the "incident", so decided to report it to our community. I was in a bit of a panic looking for the key and then hearing something clunking in the dryer at the same time. It was one of those slow motion "Noooooooo!!!" 's.....

Sorry Bruce, I changed the title of the thread for you from "WILL" to "MIGHT"...

One time I went into the ocean with the remote key from my BMW.... After it was dry it worked to unlock and lock the door, and was able to drive the car.... But the gauges went crazy, lite up like a christmas tree. Disconnected the battery to reset everything, and never used that key again.

Bruce - I guess you should have taken your key to the dry cleaners!

my son's Nokia survived a wash. I found it when I was unloading the washer, so it didn't get the tumble dry. Three days of sitting on a warm (not hot) radiator and then it fired right up.
