Default How much should pcars be driven

I just purchased a Carrara 1999 my first YEEEE HAAAA!
I was wondering how many miles do most folks put on these cars? I could pile up a lot of miles if it was for the shear enjoyment of driving the car. It only has 33000 miles. Is this a driver? Where do I stop? Trade? Or let'er roll?

Love this board

The more you drive it the better it will be. True of every Porsche, except for one that has sat undriven a lot. In that case, when you first start racking up the miles, you could find some issues created by inactivity.

How about some pics...welcome aboard. You will find two distinct populations on this question and it has been debated ad infinitum. Sounds like you will fit nicely in the drive the h*ll out of it group...Go for it! Have fun and be safe. Oh yeah...let the mods begin!

I bought my '99 exactly one year ago with 13,000 miles. It now has 22,000 miles so I guess I'm looking at about 9-10K per year in Colorado (Only drive one or two times a week in the winter)

I can't even imagine not driving it everyday. It makes all other cars I drive feel mundane.

Oh! I love to drive it but hear Pcars referenced as drivers or not. People try to keep miles down. I can understand why if they intend on selling or trading. I enjoy driving the porsche. How many miles have you heard of these cars having?

Just had 60k service done. daily driver and daily redline. 1-2 DE plus some track time per year. no engine issue so far. only electronic parts failure. reverse light switch, latch microswitch, ignition switch that's all I can think about. 996 has been most reliable european car I even own in the passed 20 years.

Just drive it, otherwise you just save it for the next owner.

It is best for all cars if they are driven at least once a week. Once every 2 weeks is ok but stretching it.
